Questions
- How does it make my PowerPoint smaller?
- Large photos are usually what makes a deck heavy. The tool resizes JPEG and PNG images so the longest side is at most 1920 pixels (2560 with Higher quality) and saves JPEGs at a slightly lower quality. Slides, text, charts and layouts are left exactly as they were.
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. Everything runs in your browser, so your presentation never reaches our servers.
- Will my images look worse?
- At normal slide size they should look the same, since 1920 pixels already fills a full HD screen. Pick Higher quality if you present on large or high resolution screens. Images that wouldn't get smaller are kept as they are.
- Why didn't my file get much smaller?
- Videos, audio and embedded fonts often take most of the space, and the tool leaves those untouched. Trim or compress videos in PowerPoint, or link to them instead of embedding.
- Does it work with .ppt files?
- No, only .pptx. Open a .ppt in PowerPoint and save it as .pptx first. Password protected files also need the password removed.
