Best AI presentation makers in 2026
Yash Garg6 min read
Almost every AI presentation maker can turn a prompt into a decent first draft now. The differences show up afterwards: how many decks the free plan really gives you, whether the downloaded PowerPoint is editable, whether your free download carries someone else's logo, and what a team pays once everyone needs a seat.
This guide compares six tools on those points. Every number comes from the vendor's own pricing or help pages, checked in October 2026. Prices change often, so confirm them before you buy.
Disclosure: we build MakeDecks, one of the six. We've tried to be plain about where each tool, ours included, is the better or the worse choice.
Quick picks
- Decks that live on the web: Gamma, which can publish any deck as a website.
- Design-heavy work with a huge template library: Canva.
- Teams with strict brand rules: Beautiful.ai.
- Sales teams that want to see who read the deck: Pitch.
- Talks with a zooming canvas and live polls: Prezi.
- Editable PowerPoint from documents and spreadsheets, free: our tool, covered last.
Free plans at a glance
| Tool | Free AI allowance | Branding on free downloads | PowerPoint export | Paid plans from |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gamma | 400 credits, one time | "Made by Gamma" badge on PDF and PPTX | Every plan | $9 per seat a month, billed yearly |
| Canva | 20 AI uses a month | Watermarks on premium elements | Yes | $12 a month billed yearly, or $18 monthly |
| Beautiful.ai | 14-day trial, card required | None during the trial | Pro, Team and Enterprise | $14.50 a month, billed yearly |
| Pitch | 100 credits, one time | Watermark on PDF exports | Paid plans | $13 a month billed yearly (US pricing) |
| Prezi | 500 AI credits | Watermark-free from Plus | Static slides | $7 a month, billed yearly |
| MakeDecks | 3 decks every 24 hours | None | Every plan | $15 a month or $99 a year |
Two patterns stand out. Several free plans run on credits that don't come back once spent, so they work as a trial rather than a plan you can keep using. And free downloads often carry branding, which matters if the deck goes to a client or a board.
Gamma
Gamma is the best known of the web-first tools. A new account starts on the Free plan with 400 credits, no card and no time limit, and those credits don't refill (Gamma help center). Free generates up to 10 slides per prompt, and you can add more by hand.
PowerPoint and PDF export work on every plan, but on Free the "Made by Gamma" badge appears on PDF and PPTX exports (Gamma export guide). Any paid plan removes it.
Good fit: decks and documents that live in the browser. Gamma can publish any deck as a site on a gamma.site subdomain or your own domain (Gamma sites guide). Our Gamma comparison covers its export in more detail.
Canva
Canva Free includes up to 20 uses of Standard or Premium AI tools a month, and generating a presentation counts toward that allowance. Canva Pro raises it to up to 200 Premium uses (Canva help center). Pro costs US$12 a month billed yearly (US$144 a year) or US$18 month to month (Canva).
On the free plan, premium elements show criss-cross watermarks until you buy them or upgrade (Canva help center), so check which photos and graphics a generated deck used before you download it.
Good fit: design-led teams that already make social posts, documents and video in Canva and want slides in the same place, with its template and stock library. See our Canva comparison for how its PowerPoint download behaves.
Beautiful.ai
Beautiful.ai has no forever-free plan for new users. You start with a 14-day trial of Pro or Team, a card is required, and it's charged unless you cancel before the trial ends (Beautiful.ai pricing). Pro is $14.50 a month billed yearly, and Team is $40 per user a month billed yearly. Every paid seat includes unlimited AI generation and more than 300 Smart Slide layouts that realign as you edit.
Editable PowerPoint export is available on Pro, Team and Enterprise, and it keeps elements and speaker notes editable (Beautiful.ai help center). If you don't have its fonts installed, the export will look slightly different.
Good fit: teams that care most about consistency. Smart Slides and team brand controls keep every deck on brand, and unlimited AI means nobody counts credits. More in our Beautiful.ai comparison.
Pitch
Pitch's Free plan gives unlimited presentations and 100 AI credits that don't renew once used. In the US, Plus costs $13 a month billed yearly or $15 monthly (Pitch pricing).
PowerPoint export is a paid feature. Pitch's help center notes that fonts can't always be embedded and may fall back to Calibri, and that animations aren't carried over (Pitch help center).
Good fit: sales and agency teams. On Team and Business plans, Pitch links track visits, slide views and time spent on each slide (Pitch pricing), so you can see whether a prospect read the pricing slide. Our Pitch comparison has the full table.
Prezi
Prezi's free Basic license includes 500 credits for AI presentation generation with up to 10 talking points (Prezi help center). Paid plans start at $7 a month billed yearly for Standard, and Plus and above include unlimited AI (Prezi blog).
Good fit: presenters who want movement and participation. Prezi's zooming canvas and live polls and quizzes suit training and teaching more than a deck you email. Its PowerPoint download turns each frame into a static slide, as our Prezi comparison explains, so plan to present from Prezi itself.
MakeDecks
Our tool starts from material you already have rather than a prompt alone: notes, PDFs, Word and Excel files, an old .pptx, web pages, Google Docs or YouTube links. The free plan gives 3 decks every 24 hours with no watermark and no card, and both the PowerPoint and PDF downloads work on every plan. In the .pptx, text boxes, tables and charts are native PowerPoint objects, so you can change the words and the chart data after download. Pro is $15 a month or $99 a year for up to 50 decks a day.
The limits are real. Text sits in 15 fixed layouts, so it isn't a free-form design canvas. There's no website publishing and no viewer analytics, fonts are named in the .pptx but not embedded, and the free plan stops at 3 decks a day.
Good fit: reports, reviews and updates built from documents or spreadsheets that have to end up as an editable PowerPoint, for example a PDF turned into PowerPoint.
How to choose in 15 minutes
- Decide where the deck ends up. If you'll share a link and present in the browser, Gamma, Pitch and Prezi are built for that. If someone will open the file in PowerPoint, prioritize export quality.
- Count your decks, not the credits. A one-time pool of credits covers a few drafts. If you make a deck most weeks, compare what each paid plan includes.
- Test the export with your own content. Generate one real deck, download it, and open it in PowerPoint. Click into a text box, a table and a chart, and check the fonts.
- Check the free download for branding before you send it to a client.
- Price the team, not the individual. Most paid plans are per seat, so multiply by everyone who edits.
FAQ
Which AI presentation maker is free without a time limit?
Gamma, Canva, Pitch and Prezi all have free plans with no end date, and so do we. Gamma's 400 and Pitch's 100 credits don't refill, while Canva's allowance resets every month. Beautiful.ai offers a 14-day trial instead.
Which AI presentation tools export an editable PowerPoint?
Gamma exports PPTX on every plan, with a badge on Free. Beautiful.ai's editable PowerPoint needs Pro or higher, and Pitch's PowerPoint export needs a paid plan. Ours is on every plan, with native tables and charts.
Do AI presentation makers add a watermark?
Some do on free plans. Gamma adds a "Made by Gamma" badge to free PDF and PPTX exports, Pitch adds one to free PDFs, and Canva watermarks premium elements until they're bought.
Is AI good enough to replace building slides by hand?
For a first draft, usually yes. You'll still need to check every number, tighten the wording and make sure the story fits your audience, so budget time for a careful edit.
